Room layout planner
Enter the room's width and depth, the furniture you want to place and anything fixed such as doors and radiators. The planner proposes a position for each item, keeps your clearance free and draws the plan. Items that do not fit are listed, never dropped.
Runs on this device. No upload, account or tracking.
Your room and furniture
Wall to wall across the plan (x).
Wall to wall down the plan (y).
Kept free between items, obstacles and walls.
Measuring margin: added at each wall and twice between items.
Furniture
Width and depth of each piece as seen from above. Tick Can rotate if it may be turned 90°. Blank rows are ignored.
Obstacles
Fixed things such as radiators, pillars or built-in units. x and y are measured from the plan's top-left corner to the obstacle's top-left corner.
Doors
x and y of the hinge, the door's width and the way it swings; the whole quarter circle it sweeps is kept free.
Advanced: outline, notes, fixed positions and alternatives as JSON
Edit to plan from this JSON instead of the form: an L-shaped or other "outline" of the room ([{"x": 0, "y": 0}, …], axis-aligned corners), "notes" on the plan, a "print_scale" for the SVG, fixed "x" and "y" for an item, per-row "unit" values, or "alternatives": [{"name": "Smaller sofa", "items": [...]}] to compare up to five sets of the same items. Editing the form again rewrites the rows and keeps the outline, notes, print scale and alternatives.
Up to 100 items, 50 obstacles, 20 doors and 50 notes with names of 1 to 80 characters; a rectangular room or an outline of 4 to 40 corners with straight, axis-aligned walls; sizes up to 1,000,000 mm with at most six decimal places; 50,000 placement tries per plan. Comparisons: up to 5 alternatives, 200 KB of input, 50,000 placement tries and 1,000,000 area checks in all. Up to 100 KB of JSON input and a 1 MB report. Rectangular footprints and square door sweeps; a proposal from a simple search, not an optimal or guaranteed layout.

Technical output
The download contains the same JSON: every position in millimetres, the items that did not fit, your inputs and an SVG plan at the print scale.
About this tool
What this tool does
Check whether your furniture fits a room before you move it: enter the room size, doors, radiators and other fixed obstacles and the walking space you want to keep, and get a plan drawn to your measurements with a position for each item, in your browser.
Limits and safe use
Measure the room and every item yourself and check the plan on site before moving anything. It is a proposal from a simple search, not an optimal layout or an accessibility, safety or building-code check, and nothing is sent to a server or a model.
